Research Use Only marker — dcmage is not a medical device.

The RUO cell is a standing reminder that dcmage is Research Use Only software. It is not a medical device: it is not validated for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or patient care, and its output must not be used to inform a medical decision.

It stays visible for as long as a study is open, rather than appearing once at startup, because the statement matters most while images are actually on screen. Hover it for the full statement. The same marker appears on the startup screen before a study is loaded, and the web preview shows it in the disclaimer dialog.

This scope is the same one stated in the Intended Purpose: dcmage is for curating, editing, de-identifying, validating, and converting DICOM files in secondary, non-clinical contexts such as research cohorts, dataset curation, teaching files, and archive remediation.
