Share active image
Hand the active frame to the macOS share sheet (AirDrop, Mail, Messages…).
Export → Share Active Image… captures the active viewport as a PNG and opens the macOS share sheet, so the frame can go to AirDrop, Mail, Messages, or Notes without a round trip through disk.
Desktop app only — the entry is hidden in the browser, which has no native share sheet.
What is shared
The frame exactly as displayed: current window/level, pan, zoom, and any overlays and annotations you can see. In anonymize mode that includes your pixel redactions; in view mode it does not — the image carries whatever burned-in identifiers the source has.
Caution This is an egress of patient pixels to whatever service you pick, and it is counted against the session’s egress total shown in the status bar. Check the mode before sharing.
The PNG is written to the app’s private cache first, because the share sheet takes a file rather than an image. That file is cleared when the study is closed or replaced, and again at app start, so shared frames never outlive their study.
