C-STORE

The DICOM network service that sends an image from one system to another.

C-STORE is the DICOM “push” operation — one node sends an instance to another (for example a modality or workstation sending a study to a PACS). The sending and receiving nodes identify each other by AE Title; a wrong AE Title or a transfer syntax the receiver rejects is the usual reason a C-STORE fails.
