Import files

Add DICOM files to the current session without replacing it.

Adds one or more DICOM files to the active session instead of starting over. Unlike Open — which replaces the workspace — Import merges the new instances into the current Study → Series → Instance tree, preserving your edits, undo history, and key-image marks.

How it behaves

• New series appear in the Files tab; the viewport stays on what you were reading.
• Instances already loaded (same SOP Instance UID) are skipped as duplicates.
• Importing files from a different patient prompts for confirmation first.
