Open file

Open a DICOM file (.dcm/.dicom) or a folder of them.

Loads a DICOM dataset from disk. Accepted: .dcm, .dicom, .DCM, .dcm.gz, and folders of the same — including a patient CD, whose DICOMDIR index is resolved to the files it references. A .zip is a dictionary archive rather than a study — see Settings → Standard docs.

What gets loaded

• The DICOM header (all tag groups) into the Tag tree.
• Pixel data into the viewport, if present.
• Study metadata into the right-rail Study tab.

  Tip Keyboard: ⌘O. You can also drop a file onto the empty screen.
