Auto head defacing

Propose five redaction boxes (face, ears, jaw, back of skull) on the displayed CT/MR head slice.

Proposes five redaction boxes on the CT or MR head slice shown in the viewport: face, left ear, right ear, jaw and dental arch, and back of the skull. It thresholds the foreground to estimate the head’s bounding box, then reads Patient Orientation (0020,0020) to locate the anterior side and places each box at a fixed proportion of that outline. For other modalities it asks for confirmation first, and it refuses floating-point pixel data.

Tip Proposed boxes appear in the redaction list as numbered regions. They can be deleted but not moved or resized, so delete a misplaced box and draw a replacement with the redact tool. Apply & Export writes only the active instance, with the boxes zeroed in every frame of that file. Other files of the series are not exported or redacted. Caution This is a single-slice heuristic that proposes redaction boxes for you to confirm — not automated segmentation and not skull-stripping, and not a guaranteed defense against 3D facial reconstruction.
