Volume render view

The full-canvas 3D ray-cast of the active series.

Browser: available nowmacOS app: 1.1.0 or newer

The whole centre panel is one rendered image of the active series. Drag to rotate, right-drag to zoom, middle-drag to pan. The series selector above the panel switches which series is rendered.

There is no slice index, frame strip, or window/level readout here: every pixel is a summary of many voxels along one ray, so none of those describe what you are looking at. The corner label says so as well — computed, not an acquired image.

Measurement, annotation and redaction are all slice operations, so the imaging toolset is not on the bar here at all; the overlays toggle stays but is disabled, because the study’s structure set is still there even though this view cannot draw it. The synchronisation controls go too — there is one viewport, and no window/level to share. Image export, share, and print are withheld here for the same reason: what they would save is the rendering, not a frame of the series. Switch to a grid or 3D MPR to export acquired pixels.
