Volume render preset
Pick the transfer function that maps voxel intensity to colour and opacity.
Browser: available nowmacOS app: 1.1.0 or newer
Available in 3D VR only. A preset is a transfer function: it decides, for every voxel intensity, what colour that voxel takes and how opaque it is. That choice is what makes bone, lung, or vessels the visible structure — the underlying volume never changes.
The list is cornerstone’s built-in set, named by the anatomy and modality they were tuned for (CT-Bone, CT-Lung, CT-Air, MR-Default, and so on). A preset built for one modality applied to another usually renders as an empty or solid box; that is the transfer function missing the intensity range, not a load failure.
The preset returns to CT-Bone when you leave the view or load a different study.
Caution Changing the preset changes which structures are visible at all. A structure that disappears under one preset has not been removed from the data.
