Segmentation (SEG) objects light edit
Relabel or adjust metadata on DICOM Segmentation objects.
Problem
You have a DICOM Segmentation (SEG) object containing multiple segments — Liver, Tumor, Kidney — and you need to remove one segment (e.g. the Liver segment was auto-generated with poor quality and needs to be discarded). You also want to verify that SEG overlay rendering works when the segmentation is active.
Steps
Delete a Segment
-
Open the SEG DICOM file (⌘O) — e.g.
seg-test.dcm. -
Navigate to the SEG tab in the right rail. Wait for the UI transition to settle.
-
Delete a segment — locate “Liver” in the segment list and delete it. The segment is removed from the segmentation object.
Overlay Rendering
-
Toggle Overlays — the Overlays button in the top bar is visible when a SEG or RTSTRUCT is loaded. Click it to toggle segmentation overlay rendering ON. The button highlights to indicate active state.
-
Toggle off and on — click the Overlays button again to turn it off (highlight removed), then click again to turn it back on. The state toggles stably without errors.
Result
Deleting the Liver segment removes it from the Segmentation object and leaves the others intact, and the Overlays button toggles on/off cleanly through repeated round-trips. The toggle only appears when segmentation or RTSTRUCT data is present.
